Thanks to Everyone:

Now that the season has ended, I would like to congratulate all of the participants in this season's games.

First and foremost, I would like to thank all of the players. Not just the champions, but everyone who gave it their all on the field. You are all stars.

I would like to thank all of the coaches and ADs who put the show together. Their hard work and dedication to their student athletes means so much. They endure a lot of criticism for little pay.

I would like to thank the bands and the cheerleaders and those who worked the concession stands, etc. You are jsut as much a part of the show. You entertain us and feed us. Also thanks to those who prepare the fields and clean up after us. Many of you are un-noticed and underappreciated. Thank you for your efforts.

Thanks to all of the fans. Your contributions at the ticket gate and the 50/50s help support the teams. football is an expensive game and every little bit helps. A big boo to those who sneak in without paying or just watch from outside the fence. It is only $3.00. How cheap can you be? You spend a lot more than that on things you don't need that contribute nothing to society. (especially when I see you in fancy clothes)

Thank you all of the good forum writers who kept us informed.

A BIG THANK YOU to sjwildcats who worked hard to give us all of the scores and to clanfan2 who carefully keeps a record of all scores since the beginning of time.

I have posted my final rankings on my blog. it was easy this week since I only had a few teams playing to worry about.

St. Joe's get my #1 in the Small Schools. I can't see how anyone could possivbly argue this.

Florence gets my #1 in Group 1. It is a shame that they couldn't have played Paulsboro or Schalick - especially Paulsboro. This could have been the year when they finally beat a Gloucester County team and they were never given the chance.

Clearview tops my Tri-County rankings, although Schalick can easily argue this one. Clearview's competition was much tougher than Schalick's.

West Deptford tops my Gloucester County rankings as they beat Paulsboro (the only Group Champion fromm the county this year) and they made it to the finals, undefeated going in.

If I were to give a fan award, it would probably go to Florence. Their enthusiasm is un-matched.

I have an analysis of each Tri-County team's season on my Tri-County blog.

Of course, my Bulldogs have full coverage on my other 2 blogs:

Once again, it was a great season. Time to stop all of the negatives and appreciate the positives.

I hope you enjoy all of the photos on my blogs. I will try to do better next year.

Rankings: Group 1 (Final) 12/03/06

Rankings: (12-0) = how I think they will finish (if they haven't finished yet) based on what they have done to date. Records are updated as games are reported.

I have seen the top 4 and 8 of the top 10 and 5 of the second 10. Teams I have seen are highlighted in blue. Basically I have seen 15 of 23 (65%).

Let me know if i typoed on a team's record.

Group 1:

1. Florence: 11-1 Born Index #2 - They got the job done and they will have the best record in Group 1.

2. Paulsboro: 10-2 Born Index #1 - With 2 losses, I cannot rank them on top. but got it done after a slow start to the season and a slow start in the championship game.

3. Schalick: 9-1 Born Index #3 - They may have been the best team at one point in the season, but they did not finish the job.

4. Glassboro: 9-3 ( 9-3) Born Index #4
- This is where they belong. I stated from the beginning that that would end up with 3 losses.

5. Burlington City: 7-3 Born Index #7 - With only 3 losses, they belong here.

6. Gateway 6-4 Born Index #5

7. Pennsville 6-4 Born Index #16 - finished the season with a win over Penns Grove

8. Penns Grove 7-4 Born Index #8 - above Woodbury because of a better playoff performance

9. Woodbury: 7-4 Born Index #6

10. Barnegat 4-6 Born Index #12

11. Lindenwold: 5-5 Born Index #13

12. Maple Shade 5-5 Born Index #14

Since Salem beat Gloucester who beat Woodstown who beat Salem, I rank them in order of overall record. The next 5 are probably a 5 way tie.

13. Woodstown 5-5 Born Index #15

14. Gloucester: 4-6 Born Index #11

15. Salem 3-7 Born Index #10

16. Palmyra 5-5 (thanks to forfeit win)
Born Index #19

17. New Egypt 4-6 (forfeit took away a win) Born Index #18

18. Audubon 2-8 Born Index #9 - better than their record, but the record is what it is

19. Haddon Heights 2-8 Born Index #17

20. Riverside 2-8 Born Index #20

21. Pitman 1-8 Born Index #21

22. Bordentown 1-9 Born Index #22

23. Clayton 0-10
Born Index #23

Rankings: Small Schools (Final) 12/03/06

Small school rankings (CP style - I follow their debabtable format in choosing teams to rank): a lot of guessing in inserting the Group 2’s with the 1’s.

This is my toughest list to figure out especially in the middle. Input is appreciated.

I have seen 8 of the top 10, 5 of the second 10, 5 0f the third 10, 3 of the fourth 10. Teams I have seen are in blue. Basically I have seen 52.5% of this list.

If you disagree, try it yourself!

1. St. Joe’s: 11-0 CP #1 Born Index #1 - No doubt about it!

2. West Deptford: 11-1 CP #3 Born Index #2

3. Florence: 11-1 CP #2 Born Index #5

4. Paulsboro: 10-2 CP #4 Born Index #3

5. Schalick: 9-1 CP#7 Born Index #8

6. Deptford: 8-2 CP#5 Born index #4

7. Bishop Eustace: 8-3 CP#6 Born Index #6 - perhaps a broken foot brings them down a notch

8.Haddonfield: 7-4 CP#9 Born Index #7 - tough not to put them ahead of Deptford, but big loss (shutout) to Woodbury and a loss to Collingswood hurts their ranking. Too many losses keeps them down. The "they beat Deptford on-the-field" argument would also mean that I put Woodbury ahead of them (with the same number of losses) and then put Gateway (with the same number of losses) ahead of Woodbury, plus I would have to place 4 loss Penns Grove above Schalick and Pennsville above them, thus that argument wouldn't place them much differently or perhaps lower. As it is, I have ranked Haddonfield as the highest 4 loss team and as the highest 7 win team.
They are the only team in those categories to beat any higher ranked teams (2) (although they have also lost to 2 lower ranked teams). Those who debate their ranking are short-sighted and don't see all of the implications of their argument. They just want to see their team ranked higher and don't want the same argument applied to others.

9. Glassboro: 9-3 CP#8 Born Index #9 - They go down 2 slots after the Finals

10. Delran 6-4 Born Index #10

11. Burlington City 7-3 Born Index #16 - best Group 1 or 2 team not in playoffs!

12. Bridgeton: 7-4 Born Index #12

13. Lower Cape May 7-3 Born Index #17

14. Gateway 6-4 Born Index #14

15. Pennsville 6-4 Born Index #30

16. Penns Grove 7-4 Born Index #20

17. Woodbury: 7-4 CP#10
Born Index #15

18. Lindenwold: 5-5 Born Index #24

19. Buena 5-5 Born Index #13

20. Gloucester Catholic 4-6 Born Index #18

21. Maple Shade 6-4 (one win is a forfeit) Born Index #26

22. Woodstown 5-5 Born Index #27

23. Gloucester: 4-6 Born Index #23

24. Salem 3-7 Born Index #22

25. Palmyra 4-6 Born Index #36

26. New Egypt 4-6 (one forfeit loss) Born Index #33 - forfeit hurts their ranking

27. Collingswood 4-6 Born Index #19

28. Burlington Twp. 2-8 Born Index #11 - better than their record with 2 forfeits

29. Pleasantville 3-7 Born Index #25

30. Sterling: 3-7 Born Index #28

31. Audubon 2-8 Born index #21

32. Woodrow Wilson 0-9 Born Index #32 – I still have no clue where to put them, but they could have had a consolation win if the NJSIAA had done a better job!

33. Overbrook 1-9 Born Index #34

34. Haddon Twp. 2-8 Born Index #29

35. Haddon Heights 2-8 Born Index #31

36. Cinnaminson 2-8 Born Index #35

37. Riverside 2-8 Born Index #37

38. Pitman 1-9 Born index #38

39. Bordentown 1-9 Born index #39

40. Clayton 0-10 Born index #40

Rankings: Tri-County Conference (Final) 12/03/06

Tri-County: I have seen every team except for Highland and Cumberland.

This will not change unless Glassboro upsets Paulsboro.

Also go to my Tri-County Blog:

http://boro70tc.blogspot.com/

I will add season ending analysis of each team to that blog soon.

1. Clearview 9-1 Born Index #4 (even though they beat #1, 2 & 3 - ha!)
- Their loss was to a much tougher team than Schalick's loss and their schedule strength was higher.

2. Schalick 9-1 Born Index #5

3. Deptford 8-2 Born Index #2

4. Glassboro 9-3 Born Index #6

5. Williamstown 7-3 Born Index #3

6. Delsea 6-4 Born Index #1

7. Kingsway 5-5 Born Index #9

8. Highland 4-6 Born Index #7

9. Pennsville 6-4 Born Index #15

10. Penns Grove 7-4 Born Index #10

11. Gloucester Catholic 4-6 Born Index #8

12. Woodstown 5-5 Born Index #13

13. Gloucester 4-6 Born Index #12

14. Salem 3-7 Born Index #11

15. Cumberland 1-9 Born Index #14

16. Overbrook 1-9 Born Index #16

17. Pitman 1-8 Born Index #17

18. Clayton 0-10 Born Index #18

Rankings: Gloucester County (Final) 12/03/06

Gloucester County rankings: I have seen all of these teams except for Township, and Gateway.

(#xx ) = Born Power index rankings - bogus (as proven in the Tri-County Rankings) but fun to compare.

I will add an analysis of each team's season soon.

1. West Deptford 11-1 (#1) - last undefeated team in county

2. Paulsboro 10-2 (#2) I move them uo a slot since they were the only county team to win a Group Championship and they did so by shutting out a team that no on else shutput and by the exact number of points that I predicted.

3. Clearview 9-1 (#7)

4. Deptford 8-2 (#5)

5. . Washington Township 6-4 (#4) - level of competiton is so much superior to rest of county, but I can't rank them higher with 4 losses.

6. Glassboro 9-3 (#8) - They drop one with the loss to Paulsboro

7. Williamstown 7-3 (#6)

8. Delsea 6-4 (#3) -how Born can rank them higher than teams that beat them is amazing, but when I tried to create my own index, it was just as corrupted.

9. Kingsway 5-5 (#11)

10. Gateway 6-4 (#9)

11. Woodbury 7-4 (#10)

12. Pitman 1-8 (#12)

13. Clayton 0-10 (#13)

Gloucester County vs. outside competition = 0-1 in Finals and 61-29 overall (67.78%) - which is actually disappointing. Only 1 Group championship this year.
