Update - 10/31/10

This weeks significant/interesting games:

Cherokee 43, Clearview 14 – another solid win

Holy Spirit 34, Ocean City 0 – also a solid win

Paul VI 40, Triton 13 – no problem here

Holy Cross 51, Palmyra 6 – everyone expected HC to win, but not this big!

Williamstown 27, Shawnee 21 – a one score difference seems about right for these two teams – might not drop Shawnee down

Washington Twp. 7, Pennsauken 6 – Few expected this! Pennsauken will take a drop, but how far down do I take them?

Hammonton 21, Atlantic City 14 –the bubble bursts for AC but they will still be in the palyoffs

Nottingham 26, Rancocas Valley 24 –and the bubble also bursts for RV

Moorestown 20, Camden Catholic 13 – CC led at the half

That covers my top 10 teams

West Deptford 62, Sterling 3 – one point shy of my bad boy list

Woodbury 26, Paulsboro 0 – who would have thought that the margin would be that big – Woodbury moves up a lot and Paulsboro drops a lot

Willingboro 40, Bordentown 0 – 33-0 at the half

Pennsville - bye

St. Joe’s 51, Bridgeton 0 – a very good showing for SJ

Haddonfield 35, Collingswood 0 – now Haddonfield has biggest win over C’wood!

Cumberland 40, Woodrow Wilson 28 – now last week’s upset of Delsea seems more like just an upset

Delsea 44, Woodrow Wilson 14 – Delsea back on track and will move way up!

Burlington Twp. 34, Pemberton 8 – strong win

Glassboro 33, Salem 8 – Bulldogs bounce back from an unexpected loss just as Delsea did.

Penns Grove - bye

Cinnaminson at Hopewell Valley today

Bishop Eustace 7, Cherry Hill West 0 – BE finally gets their 2nd win and CHW has no wins!

Lower Cape May 6, Buena 0 – LCM heading towards playoff slot!

St. Augustine 38, Millville 23 – St. A finally gets a win and Millville is on the edge of a playoff slot!

Pitman 20, Woodstown 6 – Pitman must upset PG to make playoffs

Oakcrest 42, Pleasantville 8 – Oakcrest makes a strong bid to enter my rankings and they seem headed towards the playoffs and possibly a high seed!

My top 5 for each public group: Remember that I keep last year's top teams where they left off unless they are unimpressive

(after Saturday 10/29 – with 2 unknown scores)

Group 4:

1. Cherokee (7-0)

2. Williamstown (6-1) – only loss to Cherokee

3. Atlantic City (6-1) – lost to Group 3 Hammonton and should psoosibly be below Shawnee, but Shawnee has 3 loses. I’ll put a team below a team in the same group that has 1 more loss, but not 2 more.

4. Shawnee (4-3) - losses to Cherokee, Winslow and Williamstown

5. Egg Harbor Township (5-2)

Possible wildcards

Oakcrest (5-2) - looks solid for playoffs

Rancocas Valley (5-2) – both losses are to teams that we are not familiar with

Pennsauken (5-2) - losses to Shawnee and Washington Township, but beat Winslow (Central Jersey for playoffs)

TRN from Ocean County and EHT should join this group for playoffs. Maybe Mainland or Southern or who knows whom too?

Group 3: toughest Group to rank!

1. Delsea (7-1) – moves back up

2. Moorestown (5-2) losses are to Top Ten teams – won but not by big margin so they go down to #2 as Delsea gets back on track after being slapped last week

3. Hammonton (5-2) - losses to Holy Spirit and EHT

4. Burlington Twp. (6-2) - losses are to undefeated teams

5. Woodrow Wilson (5-2) – loss to Cumberland brings them down

Timber Creek (4-3) also under consideration for wildcard – looks ok for playoffs

Winslow Twp. (4-3) under consideration for wildcard – has bye week – has shot at playoffs even if they lose to Williamstown

Cumberland (4-3) can pick up 19 power points plus residuals if they beat Clearview, but that might not be enough – it will be tight

Kingsway (4-4) – losses are all to very tough teams – beat Cumberland which beat WW – must depend upon residuals and is unlikely for playoffs

Seneca (4-4) – must depend upon residuals and is unlikely for playoffs

Delsea beat TC and Cumberland which both beat WW which beat Delsea. TC also lost to Moorestown

Lacey Twp. will be top seed for playoffs and will be favored to beat all these teams.

Group 2:

1. West Deptford (7-0)

2. Willingboro (7-0) - but should be 1st seed in playoffs

3. Haddonfield (6-1)

4. Cinnaminson (5-3) has only lost to ranked teams

5. Lower Cape May (5-2) – welcome to the rankings and the playoffs!

Collingswood (4-3) – took WD to the limit, but could only play one half against Paulsboro and almost lost to Lindenwold – must play Woodbury and see what happens to Manchester

Camden (4-3) - could make playoffs with win over Glassboro

Bridgeton (4-4) is long shots for playoffs as they must depend upon residuals

2 Ocean County teams will be in playoffs.

Group 1:

1. Woodbury (5-1) – big win over Paulsboro moved them to the top

2. Pennsville (7-0) - bye week

3. Glassboro (6-1) – nice win over Salem – only loss to PV

4. Penns Grove (6-1) - only loss to Glassboro – bye week

5. Paulsboro (6-1) – big defeat!

Palmyra (5-2) and New Egypt (both 6-1) just would not be able to hang with the above teams.

Schalick, Gloucester and Haddon Heights are also playoff bound

Salem, Audubon and Pitman are long shots

Non-Publics (all together): tough decisions on the top 2! Put them in whatever order you like!

1. Holy Spirit (8-0)

2. Paul VI (8-0)

3. Holy Cross (7-0)

4. St. Joseph's (6-1)

5. Camden Catholic (4-3) – three close losses in a row, but should have 8th seed in playoffs

Gloucester Catholic, St. Augustine and Bishop Eustace do not seem to be able to contend for these rankings.
