Update: 10/09/11

This week’s significant/interesting games:

Ranked teams with this and last year’s record:

1. St. Joe's (4-0) (10-1) beat St. Augustine 38-0 – but I am debating whether to leave them #1, which would not be a criticism of them, but a compliment to another!
2. Williamstown (4-0) (7-3) did not play – interesting test next week

3. Haddonfield (4-0) (11-1) beat Sterling 35-12 – Best in Group 2, but I am dropping them one rank.

4. Hammonton (4-0) (7-4) beat Egg Harbor Twp. 48-15 – 2 weeks until they get tested.

5. Timber Creek (4-0) (5-5) did not play

6. Pennsauken (4-0) (6-4) beat Winslow Twp. 32-7 – moving up to #2 or #1! Watched them and was very impressed having watched St. Joe’s last week.
7. Camden Catholic (5-0) (5-5) beat Seneca 40-0 – I’ll watch them next week, but hey just hammered a good team.!
8. Shawnee (4-1) (6-4) beat Cherry Hill East 20-16 – nice win
9. Millville (4-0) (6-4) beat Ocean City 33-13

10. Burlington Twp. (4-1) lost to Cinnaminson 27-10 – I must have jinxed them by moving them up!
11. Atlantic City (4-0) (7-4) beat Buena 19-2 – not the same level of victory over Buena as Hammonton and St. Joe’s.
12. Cherry Hill East (3-2) (1-9) lost to Shawnee 20-16 – schedule is getting tougher!

13. Woodrow Wilson (4-0) (6-4) beat Cherry Hill West 25-21 – escaped to stay undefeated
14. Moorestown (3-2) (7-3) beat Eastern 20-14 – back on the winning track
15. West Deptford (3-1) (11-1) beat Haddon Heights 49-6 – easily handled a decent team!
16. Woodstown (3-2) – lost to Glassboro 27-6 – this loss does not mean that they are a bad team. They are a good team!
17. Cinnaminson (4-1) (5-5) beat Burlington Twp. 27-10 – impressive!
18. Willingboro (2-2) (10-1) lost to New Egypt 28-24 – their bubble has burst
19. Pennsville (5-0) (9-2) beat Wildwood 47-6 – rolling towards eventual showdowns with Glassboro and Penns Grove.

20. Haddon Heights (3-1) (4-6) lost to West Deptford 49-6 – big loss!
21. Paulsboro (4-0) (9-3) beat Haddon Twp. 38-6 - power points will not be good to Paulsboro!

22. Penns Grove (3-1) (8-1) beat Schalick 24-2 – a game they won 54-0 last year!
23. Holy Spirit (2-2) (12-0) did not play – one loss is a forfeit.
24. Glassboro (4-1) (10-2) beat Woodstown 27-6 – Corey Clement dominated this game again!
25. St. Augustine (2-1) (4-6) lost to Egg Harbor Twp. 17-14
26. Holy Cross (3-2) beat Burlington City 34-7

Other interesting games:
Triton (4-1) (3-7) beat Delsea 20-19 – shocker for Delsea – big step up for Triton!
Gateway (2-2) (1-9) beat Audubon 24-21 - a win streak for Gateway!

My top 5 for each public group: I have started a rating points system which will be somewhat explained as to how I use it when I post the overall rankings. Possible wildcards (no more than 2 per Group) have higher ratings points than at least one top 5 from another Group. The one with the highest rating will get the wildcard.

(after 10/08)

Group 4:
1. Pennsauken (5-0) - I am moving them up after watching them and finally seeing a team I like!

2. Williamstown (4-0)
3. Shawnee (4-1) – tough loss to Pennsauken puts them above some undefeated teams

4. Millville (4-0)
5. Atlantic City (4-0)

Possible wildcards:

Triton (4-1)

Washington Twp. (4-1)

Group 3:
1. Hammonton (4-0)

2. Timber Creek (4-0)

3. Woodrow Wilson (4-0)
4. Moorestown (3-2)
5. Burlington Twp. (4-1)
Possible wildcard:
Northern Burlington (3-1)

Group 2:
1. Haddonfield (4-0)
2. West Deptford (3-1)
3. Woodstown (3-2)
4. Cinnaminson (4-1)

5. Delran (3-2)

Possible wildcard:
Bridgeton (3-2)

Group 1:
1. Pennsville (5-0)

2. Paulsboro (4-0)
3. Penns Grove (3-1)
4. Glassboro (4-1)

5. New Egypt (4-0)

Possible playoff teams:
Florence (3-1)
Haddon Heights (3-1) - beat Woodbury by more than Paulsboro did.
Schalick (3-2)

Could be tough to have 8 teams in South Group 1!

Non-Publics (all together):

1. St. Joseph's (4-0)
2. Camden Catholic (4-0)

3. Holy Spirit (2-2) - one loss was forfeit
4. Holy Cross (3-2)

5. Paul VI (2-2)
Possible wildcard:

Bishop Eustace (3-2)

St. Augustine and Gloucester Catholic do not seem to be able to contend for these rankings.
